A CINEMATIC FRANKENSTEIN2025

A CINEMATIC FRANKENSTEIN
2025
16mm digitised to HD video
02mn 36sec
Colour, sound, 24fps

A short experimental film created with Wonder Club participants through direct interventions on 16mm film found footage. Working with fragments of existing images, participants explored how meaning and narrative emerge through montage, repetition, and transformation, by intervening on the film through scratching, drawing, painting, and hand re-editing. Inspired loosely by the story of Frankenstein, the film imagines a kind of cinematic monster assembled from disconnected image fragments. Through cutting, layering, and manipulating the film surface itself, participants stitched together and reworked existing scenes into new sequences in order to generate a new narrative.
