cyanotype prints on fabric
A projected supported by Atelier de l’Observatoire
This project centers on the lake of Laâssilat, a douar located in the periurban region of Casablanca, which disappeared 15 years ago due to environmental changes caused by intensive industrial activities in the area. This participatory installation aimed to reactivate the lake by creating a gathering and temporary play space for the children of the village.
Using long pieces of fabric printed with cyanotype impressions, we constructed several rafts and a central shelter that served as a play area and community gathering space. The intervention included collective activities such as a procession and a gathering, an origami boat-making session, and a community discussion speculating on the lake's potential presence and its impact on the community.
